Welcome to the Bethany Hope Centre

Located conveniently in Ottawa’s Central community of Hintonburg, The Salvation Army Bethany Hope Centre for Young Parents continues nearly a century’s tradition of providing service to pregnant and parenting youth and their children. Our multi-service Centre offers daily service within the Ottawa region to young parents 25 and under and their children 6 and under.

The free services available, based on need, focus on health and nutrition, early childhood development, education, counselling and basic financial security needs. The goal of the Centre has always been to assist those who need that extra little bit of support in meeting their own and their child’s needs. Young parents often deal with isolation, lack of family support, financial strain, inadequate housing and incomplete education. Our counsellors meet with all new parents and assess each family's need in order to make referrals to the appropriate programs.

A Mid-Summer Pirate Adventure

With the Jolly Roger flying, a group of Bethany Hope Centre staff, clients and their children boarded a fifty foot pirate ship at Mooney's Bay, complete with 12 water cannons, and set off on beautiful summer morning to seek sunken treasure. With Captain Terrible Terry in command, the ship participated in a sea battle, ending with a pirate walking the plank, all for the great amusement of the children. And, to top off the day's activities everyone enjoyed a superb picnic lunch.
